Why xenon headlights are getting darker

Three main parts of light upgrade: "xenon lamp + ballast + double light lens"

Xenon lamp, its brightness is more than three times higher than halogen lamp, the life of general xenon lamp is 2000-3000 hours. It is 3-4 times longer than halogen lamp.

Ballast, common point can be called transformer, ballast, mainly to raise the voltage of the original car to power xenon lamp.

In fact, the double light lens is the convex lens for the same body switching of the high and low beams. Its function is to aggregate the astigmatism of the xenon lamp into a beam to further improve the brightness and the far degree.

Lighting upgrade is to integrate and optimize the three main components. The failure of the lights is closely related to the three main parts, and the attenuation of any one of them may cause the brightness to be dimmed.

1: Due to its compact design, high working temperature, high vibration and poor electromagnetic environment, when the ballast is aging, its output power will be smaller, and the brightness of the bulb will be directly dimmed. The ballast is the main artery of the light source. If the ballast is not of good quality or aging fast, then the best light bulb will darken with it.

2: If the ballast is new, but if the xenon lamp is aging fast, it will also darken. Xenon lamp can be divided into light failure and color failure. Light failure mainly refers to the decrease of brightness, and color failure mainly refers to the change of color temperature. Some people just installed a 6000K white xenon lamp and found that it turned yellow after a year. This situation is also very common, and it will also give people the feeling of darkening. Good bulb is very expensive, such as Philips bulb. Because of its advanced manufacturing process and equipment, the accuracy of the original components is demanding, production management is rigorous, and product stability can be guaranteed. So aging will be much slower and the price will be much more expensive!

3: If the bulb and ballast are new, but they are not as bright as before, it may be that the reflective bowl of the lens is aging. The light of xenon lamp does not directly shine on the road surface, but refracts through the reflecting bowl of the lens. If the material and technology of the reflecting bowl of the lens are not good, it will also cause refraction attenuation. Therefore, even if the light source is good, the reflecting efficiency is poor, which can not meet the expectation of lighting.

4: There is no problem with all three, so you need to see if the headlight cover has been fogged for a long time. It is suggested to make a headlight renovation.

5: To sum up, lighting upgrading is a process of integration and optimization of the three main components, and one of the links has problems and can not produce good results. That's why many people are looking for light bulbs on the Internet, but the West's search for stability doesn't work. The reason is that the three main components should be compatible and optimized, and the right bulb with the right ballast and the right lens can produce good results.
